Barbara Ann Childers, 58, passed away on March 8, 2025, in Waco, Texas. Born on June 27, 1966, in San Antonio, Texas, Barbara lived a life centered around love, family, and kindness.
Barbara found immense joy in being with her grandchildren, who were the heart of her world. She cherished every moment spent with them and extended her warmth to all children around her—earning the beloved title of "Grammy" to many. Family time was precious to Barbara; she delighted in gathering with loved ones and sharing laughter and memories. Her friends also held a special place in her heart, and she valued the connections she built throughout her life.
Known for her unwavering kindness and generosity, Barbara was always ready to help anyone in need. Her strength and compassion left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her.
Barbara is survived by her loving children: Cynamon Hooper, Grady Williams, Josh Mendiola-Son In Law; Terri Rose and her husband Kevin Rose; and Chris Engeldinger. She was a devoted grandmother to Tyler Mendiola, Charles Rose, Pete York, Isabella Rose, and Luke York. She is also survived by her brothers Michael Angelo, Val (sam) Angelo, and Eric Angelo, sister-in-law Jamie Angelo, Jocelyn Angelo-Sister-In-law, Heath Grimes brother-in-law, Lexy Angelo Niece, Conrad Reid nephew, Trevor Angelo Niece. And so many more.
She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Twila Angelo; her beloved husband James Childers; sister-in-law Susan; nieces Kelsey Smith and Keeley Hahn; and lifelong friends Chris Hahn and Chelsea Whitaker.
Barbara’s legacy of love and kindness will live on through the many lives she touched. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
