 Elinor Louise (Henley) Gibson Thompson passed away on Nov 12, 2024 in New Braunfels, TX just a few weeks shy of her 105th birthday.

 Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Mart Cemetery in Mart, TX. Elinor was born on Nov 30,1919 in Big Hill, Limestone County, TX to Albert L. Henley, Sr. and Annie Belle (Arney) Henley.

 Upon graduating High School she married Roy B.Gibson Sr of Otto on Jul 3, 1938. They had one son, Roy Jr. In the mid 1940's they moved to Mart from Ben Hur. Elinor was not only a Housewife and Mother during this time but also owned a Beauty Shop for some years. Elinor lived in Mart for over 50 yrs and was an active member of the First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an accomplished painter of still life and landscapes. She won many Blue ribbons and often sold her work at regional art fairs. Elinor also was a worldwide traveler and loved to share tales and pictures of her adventures.

  Her husband Roy passed away in February of 1994. She would later meet Adrain CurtisThompson and they would join in marriage on March 21, 1998 and move to Waco, TX. Adrain passed away in 2005. Elinor moved to New Braunfels, TX in 2013 to be closer to her grandchildren.

 Elinor was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Annie Henley, husbands, Roy Gibson Sr and Adrain Thompson, son, Roy Gibson Jr and brothers, Albert Lee Henley Jr. and Barney Henley. 

  Survivors include her grandchildren, Raymond (Lisa) Gibson of Hondo, Shelley Gaines of Colorado and Randy Gibson of New Braunfels; great grandchildren Matthew Gibson, Taylor (Adrienne) Gibson, Ryan Gibson, Trace Albright, Milo Gibson, and Blue Wright as well as four great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
