Howard Lawrence Stone

Howard Lawrence Stone, 73 of Mart, TX, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024 in Waco, TX. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Littlepage Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Services will be at 1:00 pm Monday, September 9, 2024 at Kirk Cemetery with Rev. Jim Ingram officiating.

 Howard was born on August 3, 1951 in Mart, TX to Vernon Edell Stone, Sr. and Mary Alice Flack Stone. He was raised in the Mart – Kirk area and attended School in Mart where he later graduated from Mart High School. 

 After he graduated from High School, he went to work for Robert Skains Electrical in Waco, TX as an electrician. He worked there for many years before going to work at Cargill where he did maintenance electrical work and became a supervisor until he retired .

 Howard loved being on a farm. When he wasn’t working his regular job, be enjoyed farming, raising his cattle, bailing hay, and taking care of his mother for several years until her passing in 2013. He had other things he enjoyed like watching TV, his vehicles including his race car he owned, and helping other people. Howard was a very giving person who helped anyone who needed help.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Edell, Sr. and Mary Alice Stone. Survivors include his sister, Mary Viola Case – Warschak and husband Carroll of Waco, TX; brothers, Vernon Edell Stone, Jr. and Hollie Rumsey of Hubbard-Okemah, OK and Steven Richard Stone of Mart, Tx; Nephews, Tommy Case of Waco Tx , Jason Stone of McGregor Tx; nieces, Crissa Hopkins of Lake Highland Village, Tx, Sierra Stone-Rumsey Hessman of Okemah, Ok, and Lakin Shannon of Okemah, Ok; and cousins, Preslee and Bretton Case.
