Walter Stone Sealy passed away on February 23, 2024 peacefully, at home and surrounded by family. A service celebrating and honoring his life as well as giving thanks to Jesus will be held near his home in Thrall, Tx. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Round Rock Area Serving Center where Walt volunteered for many years, rrasc.org.
Walt was born on May 1, 1941 in Longview, TX to Lester and Tomy Lee Sealy. As a teen and young adult he discovered an affinity for mathematics and after attending East Texas Baptist University, graduated from Northwestern in Louisiana with a master’s degree in mathematics.
In 1971 Walt met the love of his life, Judy Jeanette McDonald, on a blind date. They were married on June 10, 1972. Walt and Judy enjoyed 51 years of marriage. They have two children, Gregory Stone and Carrie Suzanne.
After being employed at Texas Instruments as a computer programmer for over 25 years, Walt retired. He then worked in the same field at Genicom for several years before fully retiring. In his retirement, Walt enjoyed volunteer work and did so at The Round Rock Area Serving Center and the Texas Baptist Children’s Home.
History, baseball, football, country music and telling jokes are some of the things that Walt enjoyed.
Walt is survived by his wife Judy, his children, Greg and Carrie, his daughter-in-law and son-in-law who he loved as his own, Susanne Sealy and David Hassell, his three grandchildren who he adored, Grace, Stone and Levi Sealy, and his younger brother who he has always loved, Ramsey Lee Sealy.
Along with loving his family dearly, Walt trusted and loved Jesus. The fruit of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control were increasingly evident in him. He treated people with respect and generosity, and he valued and carried wisdom. Walter will always be fondly remembered and greatly loved.
